Lakeith Stanfield, of Sorry to Bother You and Atlanta fame, has signed on to play the lead role in Notes From a Young Black Chef, based on the 2019 memoir by Kwame Onwuachi and Joshua David Stein. In January, the 27-year-old Top Chef alum learned that his much-hyped first restaurant would be closing after only two-and-a-half months of operation. The Shaw Bijou in Washington, D.C., featuring 185 tasting menus, opened November 1 and already has a lengthy waitlist for members, the Washingtonian reported.
